If you are used to making a pot of coffee even when you want just a cup, then this great little brewer may well be your saviour. Arguably the most popular manual brew method over the past decade, the Hario V60-02 is a newer twist on the classic Melitta cones. There are as many opinions on brew method as there are baristas but, once you have found your favourite, this is one of cheapest and most effective ways to make great coffee at home.

This method, paired with the appropriate filters, is ideal for making single cups of coffee directly into the mug - you can make up to 16oz in one brew - and ensures that you only make the coffee that you need. It's simple to use, easy to clean and, as long as you have good coffee, may make you put your coffee machine away for good.

This Hario V60 is plastic (BPA-free and shatter resistant), but it is also available in ceramic (prettier and better at retaining heat), heatproof glass or metal with a variety of finishes. Whichever you choose, your days of old, microwaved coffee could be over.

  • Gedeb from Ethiopia

From the renowned region of Yirgacheffe, these heirloom beans are produced by the Moplaco network of 600-800 smallholder farms at altitudes between 1950-2100 masl and are washed in Gedeb through a process of dry fermentation after pulping, followed by overnight soak and dried on raised beds.

    In your cup

Expect a deep and elegant cup characterized by its cleanliness, mouthfeel, and long-lasting floral aftertaste. What stood out was how its notes reminded us of the juiciness of peach iced tea, the fruitiness of strawberry-rhubarb, and delicate kiwi acidity as it cooled. Certainly the most complex and adventurous coffee in our current lineup.

  • Toto Natural from Ethiopia

The crop was grown in Kawo Kamina, a farm operated by highly-regarded Ethiopian coffee exporter, Moplaco. The river that runs through the farm separates Sheka from Kaffa woreda, another renowned coffee region.
    In your cup
That unmistakable fruity and poignant natural Ethiopian profile, with apricot and pear sweetness and fruitiness, with a floral undertone and a very clean finish. Try bringing out these notes through pour over, or, if you are feeling adventurous, pull some espresso shots with this natural African.

  • Modelo from Honduras

This coffee is our first from Honduras and was grown at Carlos Aguilar's 7 hectare farm in the town of Guerisne. Carlos started growing coffee after he bought the farm in 2011 and, after a challenging first few years due to market and logistical conditions, he has been successfully and consistently growing 100% Catuai specialty coffee.

    In your cup
Roasted on the lighter side of medium, you will be met with some slight acidity, followed by a clean, clear, fresh and comfortably fruity cup, with notes reminding us of black tea, orange, and red grape. Brew this as filter or as an espresso shot with a splash of vibrancy.
