Between the hot lowlands and the cooler Guatemalan Highlands, we find Finca La Tormenta, a farm around the town of San Agustín Acasaguastlan. Roberto Chevez is a 24-year-old 3rd generation coffee farmer, and this year is only his farm's fourth harvest separating varieties into individual lots. Their first was in 2017 when they participated in the Guatemalan Cup of Excellence and won. The farm has once again, this year, submitted and was approved by the COE Guatemala committee. This current harvest is also the first to make its way to Canada.

With this dense, fully washed Sarchimor bean, you can expect a very lively cup with big red berry notes, and a similar mouthfeel that you would find with V8 carrot juice: lots of acidity at first sip, met with lots of sweetness afterward. This coffee is roasted on the lighter side and developed for a bright cup of filter, so give it a go with your pour-over or batch brew.

How to care for your coffee

Coffee is a natural product that degasses over time, losing flavour and complexity. Store your coffee in a cool, dry, dark place to optimize freshness.
