The Omonia dancer was Ambros’ first logo.

A couple of years ago, our founder stumbled upon this street art in Omonia, in central Athens. Considered the heart of the city; it has seen better days. The several years prior, had put a strain on the once-thriving neighborhood and, in essence, served as a reminder on the hardships the city has faced. Athens is recovering, but the heart is the first to break and the last to heal.

He snapped a picture of it and went on with my day. When he got back to Canada, for reasons unbeknownst to him at the time, he tried finding the artist. With his tag at the bottom right corner, “Lemonik”, after several months, he successfully found him; a Greek artist living in Belgium. he asked him if he could retrace his drawing, and that he was ready to pay a fee. The artist, appreciating the gesture and lengths he taken to track him down, granted our founder the liberty to use the piece. He even sent him a video montage of him painting the image years back during a street festival.

Today, we are re-releasing the piece as part of our Spring 2025 collection.

Freddo Culture at Alphabet:

Our signature drink that marries whipped, iced espresso and cold foam, is one already deeply ingrained in Greek coffee culture, and we are committed to serve it with the quality, substance, and style that it deserves. From its introduction in Greece in the 1990s, as an alternative iced coffee to the traditional Frappe (made from lower-grade instant coffee), which it soon surpassed in popularity, to the advent of specialty coffee in the early 2000s, and up until today, the Freddo may have grown up a bit, but has always kept its spirit. At Alphabet, Freddo is a culture and an art.
